On Wednesday 17th December Women's Rights Network is outside the Dept of Health, 39 Victoria St, London SW1 between 1 and 3pm to protest against the PB trial.
The school I worked in validated the ‘identity’ of a 6 year old, changing that child’s name, using wrong-sex pronouns, wrong-sex toilets and swimming pool changing rooms. This was the advice of school counsellors and Gendered Intelligence, and agreed to by the parent/s in this case. I left the school after an attempt to challenge. 6 months after I left, children were still being reminded to use the ‘preferred’ pronouns of a child they’d known since Nursery.
Teachers who were new to the school were not told that child’s true sex. I think the fact that the parents were pushing this and they were middle class and sharp elbowed, along with the apparent ignorance of the headteacher, safeguarding lead, counsellors and governors about normal childhood development along with trauma and the likelihood that autistic kids are more likely to be confused about the difference between sex and ‘gendered presentation, all made this more likely to occur.
There were a few young ‘activist’ teachers who saw this the same as homosexuality, including the child’s teacher who really herself should know who is female and who is male. The LADO did not consider this a safeguarding issue, though it later emerged that the family had many of the sorts of ‘comorbid’ issues detailed in the Cass report and in Hannah Barnes’ account of the psychological, and family issue in children referred to Tavistock GIDS. I contributed to the Cass report around social transitioning in schools and was pleased she stated that social transition is a psychological intervention. I am so disappointed that Cass seems nothetheless to believe in the ‘trans child’.
The trans lobby also promotes asexuality because they know very well that if a child is blocked from puberty at tanner stage two, sexual awakening is also blocked.
surely this is a legal issue as well as a safeguarding one? Allowing young girls to use boys' toilets clearly has the potential for sexual harassment or worse.
I can't understand why the Head and SMT hasn't been subjected to disciplinary action by the education department.
Boys also have a right to their own spaces. There was a girl who claimed to be a boy in the US. She filmed boys in the boys' locker room while they were changing, and when the boys complained, they were suspended and two of them were accused of sexual harassment. It's just annoying when boys are always considered guilty by default and girls are always considered innocent by default.

You're right and those boys were treated appallingly, ridiculous and totally unreasonable to suspend them.
We forget that boys can be vulnerable too.
